Bitmine buys $81 million in ether during crypto rally

Bitmine bought 32,447 ETH last week. The purchase was worth roughly $81 million at an ETH price of $2,500. Bitmine's holdings reached 5,847,611 ETH after the purchase. The holdings are valued at about $14.6 billion at current prices. Bitmine's holdings represent roughly 4.8% of Ethereum's 120.7 million tokens. The company would need about 187,000 more ETH to reach its 5% target. Bitmine has added ETH every week since launching its Ethereum treasury strategy in June 2025, according to Tom Lee. Ether gained about 30% over the past week. Lee said ether's rally could continue and cited similar surges in 2021 and 2025.
